M-CHS Students Help Each Other Find Sources of Strength

Austin Cope
/
KSJD

The Sources of Strength program at Montezuma-Cortez High School aims to build an encouraging school community and counteract mental health issues with positive messages and events. It encourages students to reach out to trusted adults in the community and refer their peers who may be experiencing mental health issues. High school counselors Carmen Maness and Mark White sponsor the program. KSJD’s Austin Cope sat down with Matthew Grimes, Kylee Toomey, Megan Harmon, Aspen Yoder, and Kira Galbraith. They are some of the peer leaders of Sources of Strength, and they talked about what being part of the program means to them.

These student peer leaders have organized a screening of the Polar Express in the M-CHS auditorium on Wednesday, December 14 at 3:20pm.
