A score of upset residents from the Pleasant View area came to the Montezuma County Commission meeting Monday to protest the proposed closing of one end of County Road BB.
The Colorado Department of Transportation has suggested the closure to improve safety at the intersection of BB and Highway 491. The route is used by tourists traveling to Hovenweep National Monument, but the turn is considered unsafe because a large hill blocks visibility. The commissioners said they will have a public meeting on the proposal before taking any action.
