Closing the Navajo Generating Station Could Benefit Health, Access To Water, Diné CARE Says

On February 13th, the owners of the Navajo generating station near Page, AZ, announcedtheir plans to close the plant in 2019. In response, Navajo Tribal Council speaker LoRenzo Bates told KSJDthe closure would bring serious economic repercussions. But environmental activist group Diné Care says access to water and health of the people who live in the region are more important than money.
