A 53-year-old Pleasant View man was shot and killed by Montezuma County Sheriff’s officers after he reportedly fired at them Tuesday night. Sheriff Steve Nowlin tells KSJD the officers were responding to a report of a domestic-violence disturbance around 9 p.m. when they were fired upon by Tyrone Peabody and returned fire. No one else was injured. Nowlin said the incident is under investigation by the 22nd Judicial District Attorney’s office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
