Lightning has sparked a wildfire on Bureau of Land Management lands east of Dove Creek. According to a release, the fire was discovered Saturday burning in steep, rugged terrain covered in piñon and juniper. Fire crews were working on the ground to suppress the blaze and a helicopter was providing water drops. The fire was zero percent contained as of Monday afternoon, the most recent information available.
