Ballots are arriving at county clerks’ offices as Election Day approaches on Tuesday, November 7th. As of Wednesday evening, Montezuma County Clerk Kim Percell tells KSJD her office has seen 6,503 of 28,553 ballots returned. The Cortez and Mancos school districts are voting on school funding and school board candidates, and Dolores also has a school board election.
In San Juan County, Utah, the clerk’s office says just under 2,000 of about 6,000 ballots have arrived as of Thursday morning. Decisions include whether to incorporate Bluff as a town, and whether to allow alcohol sales in the Blanding city limits. The county is also voting for a U.S. congressional representative.
Mail-in ballots in San Juan County must be postmarked by November 6th, and polls will be open from 7pm to 8pm on November 7th. Montezuma County ballots must arrive at the clerk’s office by November 7th at 7pm.
