Couple Asks BLM to Stop Phil's World Expansion

Two Montezuma County residents are seeking a stay of a proposed expansion of the Phil’s World bicycle trail system east of Cortez. Bob and LouAnn Ball, whose property adjoins the site, have filed a notice of appeal and a petition for a stay with the Bureau of Land Management’s Tres Rios Field Office. They express concern about impacts of an additional 25 trail miles on wildlife, soils and the watershed and say these weren’t properly analyzed before the BLM approved the expansion.
