The Ute Mountain Ute Tribe has been awarded a $2 million grant for a project to improve access and safety along a 2.5-mile section of U.S. Highway 160 south of Cortez. In a release, Colorado senators Cory Gardner and Michael Bennet both hailed the award, which comes from the federal Department of Transportation under a program known as TIGER, for Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery.
