Cortez Announces Bulk Trash and Cleanup Week for October 20–23

Ways To Subscribe

The City of Cortez is gearing up for its October bulk trash and city cleanup week, happening October 20th through the 23rd on your regular trash day.

This service is designed for those oversized items that won’t fit in your regular container, like mattresses, large appliances, boxed glass, toilets, or bundled yard waste.

Tires, contractor debris, hazardous waste, and electronics like flat-screen TVs won’t be accepted, and piles must be limited to 10 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 5 feet high.

Place your pile neatly at the curb, sorted by type of material, at least five feet away from obstacles like trash bins, vehicles, or fences.

Items can go out as early as the Saturday before, but must be curbside by 6 a.m. Monday of your collection week.

If you need extra help with bigger projects or oversized piles, contact the city at 970-564-4012 to learn about cleanup dumpsters or additional container options.
