Rico, Colorado has a new town manager.
Longtime Telluride resident Kari Distefano has been chosen to fill the position, open since previous manager Mike England was terminated in August. Mayor Pro Tem Barbara Betts tells KSJD the town board presented Distefano, who was one of five finalists, with the job offer on January 24th. Betts says Distefano is currently completing a degree in environmental planning at the University of New Mexico. Previously she worked as a GIS technician in Angel Fire, New Mexico, and with San Miguel County, Colorado. She is to assume full-time duties in May.
