In the aftermath of the Marshall Fire, an outpouring of donations flooded to victims who lost everything to the largest wildfire in Colorado history. The Community Foundation, a Boulder nonprofit, took up the reins for collecting these donations which amounted to about $43 million. It is more than many communities get after a natural disaster, but only about 2 percent of the Marshall Fire’s destruction.

State Ballot Proposition 121 asks Colorado voters if they would like to decrease the state income tax rate. Supporters say the cut will put money into people’s pockets. Opponents say the tax decrease is actually a tax increase for most Coloradans. They are asking voters to weigh in on another measure, Proposition GG which will add a table to all income tax-related ballot measures in an effort to clarify how taxpayers will affect different socioeconomic groups.

This November, voters in Colorado will weigh in on a ballot measure to fund universal school meals for public school students in the state. The funding for the so-called Healthy School Meals For All measure would come via a limit on state income tax deductions for those earning more than $300,000.
