Water Wednesdays: Spring Weather, Dolores River Flows & Reservoir Updates

Ways To Subscribe

Good morning! I'm Lacy McKay, and it’s Water Wednesdays on KSJD’s Outdoor Report for April 30th. Expect near-normal temperatures and more precipitation over the next two weeks. Snowfall is anticipated for mountain peaks this weekend, but drier and warmer conditions are ahead. River flows on the Dolores are increasing, with peak flows hitting nearly 4.5 feet, though a below-average snowpack means limited releases for downriver fisheries. McPhee Reservoir is at 78% of last year’s water levels. Be mindful of stronger flows as temperatures rise, and make sure your flotation gear is ready for the season.

LP recently moved to the Four Corners from Austin, Texas, where they worked as a Case Manager for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and in HOA property management where they were fortunate to learn many different styles of communication and creative thinking/problem solving. In their time away from work, they watch a ton of movies (spanning all decades, nationalities, and genres), and tries to listen to one really good album every day.
