Active Weather Continues: Snow and Thunderstorms Today

Ways To Subscribe

We’ve got another active weather day across the region, with much-needed moisture arriving in the form of mountain snow and afternoon thunderstorms. A low-pressure system near the Arizona–New Mexico border is pushing wrap-around moisture into the San Juans this morning, spreading north to the central Divide later in the day. Expect 3 to 6 inches of snow above 9,500 feet and a chance of moderate to heavy rainfall, small hail, and gusty winds with thunderstorms. Precipitation should taper off after sunset, though a few isolated showers may linger overnight, especially in southeast Utah.

Looking ahead, temperatures will start warming up on Wednesday, though moisture will stick around, keeping the chance for afternoon storms in play—especially over the high terrain. Sunshine returns Thursday for most of the region, with more pleasant weather into the weekend, though low-end chances for rain return by Sunday night as another system moves in.

Stay safe out there.
