Boggy Draw Report for June 20th, 2025

Ways To Subscribe

Happy summer solstice, mountain bikers! While the days technically start getting shorter now, this weekend looks great for riding, with no afternoon storms in the forecast. Temps will ease slightly after Friday—especially in Dolores and Rico, where conditions should be cooler and calmer by Sunday.

Expect dusty trails, especially on popular routes like Boggy, Maverick, and Black Goat. If you're looking for solid options with great views and good training potential, try Salt, Stoner or Hillside.

Tuesday trail work continues—huge thanks to all the volunteers helping keep our local trails in shape! And good news: KSJD’s Rico transmitter (KICO) is back on the air, so you can listen on the ride in.

Shoutout to Joe, the cyclist injured near 145 & 160—he’s home and recovering. And if you’re looking for group rides or updates, check out the Four Corners Mountain Biking Info Facebook page.

Stay cool, stay safe, and ride early or late to beat the heat.

Grateful to Janet, Roadie Doug and Jonathan for allowing me to join them as one of the subatomic Electrons that make up the Eclectic Hour that bring a diverse mix of music to listeners, though I would love to join Chris in the Morning on KBEAR in beautiful Cicely, Alaska.
