Red Flag Warnings Continue Through Saturday in the Four Corners

Ways To Subscribe

Good morning!

I’m Lacy McKay.

It’s time for the KSJD outdoor report

Critical fire weather continues across the region today, with Red Flag Warnings in effect through Saturday.

Afternoon wind gusts of 30 to 40 miles per hour, hot temperatures running 5 to 10 degrees above normal, and very low humidity will keep fire danger high.

A weak front will move into northwest Colorado later today, bringing only limited moisture and a slight chance of isolated showers in the north — but also the potential for stronger, erratic winds.

Conditions stay gusty tomorrow though temperatures will cool slightly.

By Sunday, winds ease and the cooling trend continues, with fire danger becoming more localized.

A few spotty showers may develop over the San Juans, but meaningful rain remains unlikely.

Next week, temperatures climb back above normal with dry conditions and continued low humidity, so fire danger will remain a concern.

That’s the KSJD Outdoor Report for today.

Stay safe out there.

If you are an outdoor report fan, show your support by becoming a sustaining member. Not only are you showing how important KSJD is in your life, but your meaningful donation each month could be as much as your coffee order at one of our fine local coffee shops. Speaking of which, I’ll be at Wild Edge from 9:30 to 11am. Come say hi and give me your Outdoor report ideas!
