Hot, Dry Weather Continues in the Four Corners Region

Ways To Subscribe

Hot and dry weather will dominate the Four Corners region through midweek, with temperatures running 5 to 10 degrees above normal. Highs will push into the upper 90s and low 100s in the valleys, and many spots could challenge daily records — including Shiprock, where the forecast calls for 99 degrees. Winds will stay light under the high pressure system, limiting fire danger, but also keeping heat in place.

A few isolated showers or thunderstorms are possible over the San Juans this afternoon and again Wednesday, though most areas will remain dry. By Thursday and Friday, more moisture begins to flow into the region, boosting storm chances in the mountains. Widespread showers are likely over the weekend, which should finally bring temperatures closer to, or even a bit below, normal.
