Storms bring heavy rain, hail, and flash flood risk to region

Ways To Subscribe

Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected again today across western Colorado and eastern Utah. The main concerns will be heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and gusty winds — and stronger storms could bring hail up to an inch in diameter. Highs will stay cooler than normal, with temperatures running 5 to 10 degrees below average.

Flash flooding and debris flows remain a concern in sensitive areas, particularly near recent burn scars, as storms drop heavy rain in short bursts. Storm activity is likely to continue into tonight and Tuesday, with another round of widespread rain and thunderstorms expected tomorrow. Looking ahead, the wet pattern is expected to persist through much of the week, keeping temperatures below seasonal norms and rainfall chances high.

LP recently moved to the Four Corners from Austin, Texas, where they worked as a Case Manager for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and in HOA property management where they were fortunate to learn many different styles of communication and creative thinking/problem solving. In their time away from work, they watch a ton of movies (spanning all decades, nationalities, and genres), and tries to listen to one really good album every day.
