Montezuma County resident Judi Lichliter appealed to the county commissioners Monday to create more handicapped spaces at their facilities, including the courthouse, clerk and recorder’s office and senior center.
Lichliter said there are currently only two spaces for the disabled at the courthouse and senior center and they aren’t well marked. The commissioners said they would instruct the maintenance department to improve signage and spruce up the paint. Chairman Larry Don Suckla told Lichliter that the new courthouse under construction off Empire Street will have handicapped spaces that are covered to keep them snow-free.
