Willow Fire

Colorado Governor Jared Polis wants to pay grade school students to regularly get tested for COVID-19 this school year; In Southwest Colorado, firefighting efforts on The Willow Fire reached one hundred percent containment on Thursday.

The Willow Fire burning in the San Juan National Forest is currently at fifty percent containment; Dine College has announced that it will offer a new Native American Studies Minor starting this fall.

The Willow Fire is 30 percent contained and fire managers expect full containment in the next few days; An air quality warning has also been put in place for the region from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment; Roadwork in Cortez is continuing this week along Highway 160, but it’s all going to be happening overnight.

Two wildfires broke out this weekend and continue to burn in the San Juan National Forest.
