The Lamppost Creative Learning Center in Cortez will host a Story Share event on Tuesday, May 12th at 7:00pm.

Story Share Cortez will be an evening of storytelling, visual art, creative writing, and live improvisational theatre to honor four Montezuma County residents.

On Monday, May 18th at 5:00pm, award-winning writer, Ken Steele will be at the Cortez Public Library to present an author talk about his book, "The Promise of Unbroken Straw", which was the 2025 Oklahoma Book Award Winner.

On Monday, June 1st at 7:30pm, Dolores Bike Hostel will host an evening of adventure stories from Steve "Doom" Fassbinder and Matthew Tangeman as part of the Mesa to Mountaintops Speaker Series.

Steve has co-written the definitive bike-rafting guide including a comprehensive history of the sport and Matthew is one of the most renowned young alpine/climbing/skiing photo-videographers.
