Cooler-than-usual conditions continue across the Four Corners this morning, with a freeze warning in effect until 9 a.m. for areas from Pagosa Springs to Cortez — where overnight lows dipped into the low 20s. Expect a rebound in temperatures later today, with highs climbing nearly 10 degrees across the region. Still, afternoon temps will stay just below average for late May.
A weak front lingering near the Continental Divide could spark scattered showers this afternoon from northeast Utah into northwest Colorado. Any showers that do pop up may bring gusty winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour, especially north of I-70 and along the western divide.
Looking ahead, sunshine and warmer weather dominate the midweek forecast. Wednesday and Thursday will bring high temps in the 80s for desert valleys, and into the 60s and 70s in the high country. By the weekend, things heat up further, with a chance of light mountain showers and increased fire weather concerns due to dry, breezy conditions.
