Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, The Sunflower Theatre will host Improv Comedy Jams. The Sunflower Theatre invites movie goers to become a film critic at this year's Manhattan Short Film Festival.
Two showings will screen at the theatre on Friday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 4th from 7:00pm.
Manhattan Short Film Festival 2025 showcases the 10 finalists in short films. The films in the program feature narratives that are dramatic, sometimes humorous, occasionally magical but always inspirational!
Audience votes for the Best Film and Best Actor will be announced at ManhattanShort.com on Monday October 6th.

During October, Mesa Verde National Park Rangers will give four tours of Yucca House National Monument. Meeting at The Colorado Welcome Center in Cortez, attendees will carpool to the site.
Yucca House is a large, unexcavated Ancestral Puebloan site that has remained largely untouched for the past 800 years.
The easy to moderate 2-hour, 1/2 mile walk is along a mostly level, unpaved path. The trail is rocky in places so attendees are asked wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots.
Four tours will be offered on Sunday, October 5; Sunday, October 12; Saturday, October 18; and Sunday, October 19. All are from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Kaitlyn Elizabeth Davis will present “Early Tewa occupations and colonial-era Tewa adaptations in the Northern Rio Grande".

Four Corners Water Center at Fort Lewis College and the FLC SkyWords initiative will host an author talk and book signing with Kevin Fedarko on Thursday, October 9th at 5:30pm.
Kevin Fedarko has spent 20 years writing about adventure, conservation, exploration, and the Grand Canyon. His writing has appeared in National Geographic, the New York Times, and Esquire magazine.

The Edge of The Cedars State Park Museum in Blanding will host a presentation by Dr. Bruce Bradley on Saturday, October 18th at 2:00pm.
Titled, "Paradigm Lost: The Origin of Clovis in North America", Dr. Bradley will consider evidence that people arrived in the Americas multiple times from different directions starting at least 30,000 years ago.
