The Sunflower Troupe is thrilled to present "Silent Sky" a beautifully written play by Lauren Gunderson taking place in the early 1900s about the life of astronomer Henrietta Leavitt whose achievements changed the way we understand the universe.

The Sunflower Theatre will screen "Come See Me in the Good Light", on Thursday, November 13th at 7:00pm.
The film follows poets and partners Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley as they navigate life after Gibson’s diagnosis with terminal ovarian cancer.
The film captures their intimate journey with poetry, love, humor and vulnerability and reveals how illness forces a confrontation with mortality.
Prior to the screening, a gathering will take place at 6:30pm celebrating the work of Andrea Gibson.

The Sunflower Theatre will host Diné jazz trumpet artist and composer, Delbert Anderson along with Robert Muller on Saturday, November 22nd at 7:00pm.
Join the Montezuma-Cortez School District for the Fall Family Fair on Thursday, November 7th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Montezuma-Cortez High School. This year’s theme, “Mental Health Awareness: Things to Do to Fight the Blues,” highlights ways families can stay active and connected through the season.

The Cortez Recreation Center will host recurring Teen Nights on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 5:30 to 8:00pm.
Second Saturdays are available to middle school-aged students while fourth Saturdays are reserved for high school-aged students.
These events will include activities like an open gym, organized sports games, rock climbing, billiards, and a tabletop game room hosted by Bitterblossom Games.
Online pre-registration is encouraged but not required.

Good Sam’s Food Pantry in Cortez is open for visitors on Tuesdays and Fridays from 12 to 2 p.m. and again from 3 to 6 p.m., and on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 to 2 p.m. only. The pantry is located in the big pink warehouse at 30 North Beech Street. Staff are usually on-site Monday through Friday for donations or office needs, but may be busy—so knock loud or call ahead.
The Pinon Project will host The Incredible Years Advanced Parenting Class every Tuesday from 1:00 - 3:00pm.This class is for parents and caregivers of children aged from 2 to 10 years. The Pinon Project will offer a parenting class called "Six Bricks" every Tuesday from 5:30 to 8:00pm.
This new and updated program is centered around six research-proven steps that will help build a strong foundation for children's lives.

The Montezuma-Cortez Native Parent Advisory Committee Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 11th in Towaoc with the exact location to be determined. Meeting starts at 5:30, and will cover fundraising updates, information from the Board of Education, and planning for spring activities.

Board, dice, and card game sessions take place at Bitterblossom Games on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Bring your own games or play the ones available on site.
Every Wednesday, from 4:00 to 5:30pm , Cortez Public Library will be hosting an after-school program for kids age 9 to 18.
Featuring homework help, snacks, Lego challenges, and various creative activities, the program is open to drop-ins.

Bluff Community Centre will host the first Dark Sky Festival on Friday, November 14th and Saturday, the 15th from 6:00pm.
As Utah’s newest International Dark Sky Community, the festival at Bluff will feature Western and Indigenous astronomers, a Navajo storyteller, lectures and a variety of sky enthusiasts. Attendees will experience a weekend of stargazing, cultural traditions, and family-friendly activities.
Each night will feature a Star Party with a telescope walk and constellation tours.
