On Tuesday, June 9th from 5:30pm The Sunflower Theatre in association with The Quivira Coalition and Friends will screen “All About a Bird: 1000 Acts of Restoration”.
The second episode of the "Thinking Like Water" series highlights the endangered Gunnison Sage Grouse and how people pull together to save this unique bird. A panel discussion will follow the screening.

On Saturday, June 6th between 3:00 and 5:00pm, The Sunflower Theatre will host a Poetry Workshop titled "A Place We Call Home".
Drawing on the work of Indigenous poets and other writers, Inaugural Poet Laureate of Durango, Esther Belin, will assist participants to generate their own poems celebrating the places that shape and sustain us.

On Friday, May 29th at 1:00pm, Cortez Public Library is hosting a fun science lab for kids to learn about our local wildlife by dissecting owl pellets and discovering the fascinating diets of owls.

As part of the Teen Hangout Night series of events, Cortez Public Library is hosting their turn on Saturday, May 30th from 5:30 to 8:00pm.
The evening will feature video games, crafts, snacks and a space for teens to hangout.

On Tuesday, June 2nd at 6:00pm, Mancos Public Library will play host to a Poetry Workshop titled, " A Place We Call Home".
In this poetry workshop, participants will explore poems from Four Corners Poets Laureate, Jake Skeets, Laura Tohe, Cristoso Apache and Tommy Archuleta, before writing their own poems to celebrate the places we call home.
No writing experience is necessary and this workshop is for ages 13 and above.

On Wednesday, June 3rd at 6:00pm, Dolores Public Library will host an immersive author talk with Durango author, Scott Graham.
Scott will talk about and debut his new book, "Great Sand Dunes Massacre". Refreshments will be provided.

On Thursday, June 4th from 4.00 to 6.00pm Cortez Public Library is throwing their annual Summer Reading Kickoff Party.
This event will officially begin the Summer Reading Program and will feature face-painting, treats, crafts, minigolf, and books and it is open to the whole family.
On Saturday, June 6th at 1:00pm, Mancos Public Library will host musician Charles Wecker.
Charles Wecker's music is an intimate conversation across roots, folk, and American music sung and played on mandolin and guitar. A pot luck will follow the performance.

Each First Sunday of the month, Mancos Public Library will host two traditional Kundalini yoga classes at both 7:00 and 9:00am in person and on Zoom.
Hosted by Colette, the class will involve breathing techniques, movement and meditation and these can also be done from a chair.

On Saturday, June 13th from 10:00am until 7:00pm, Durango Public Library will play host to The Four Corners Poetry Festival.
Hosted by Durango Poet Laureate, Esther Belin, the festival is rooted in the celebration of this region as home and will feature workshops and readings.
On Saturday, June 13th from 1:30pm, Mancos Public Library will host a Warp and Weft Weaving Basics class.
Attendees can create a 6x8 piece using a simple home made hand loom under the instruction of weaving guide, Sherry Hawkins.
