The Sunflower Theatre will host The Quivira Coalition and Chama Peak Alliance on Thursday, February 26th at 5:30pm for a screening of the documentary, "Thinking Like Water".
This compelling 5-part docuseries follows restoration pioneer, Bill Zeedyk and his collaborators as they work to transform degraded watersheds into healthier, more resilient ecosystems.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring local restoration experts and filmmaker Renea Roberts.

Cortez Public Library will host a session on every third Thursday at 3:00pm entitled "Life Affirming Discussions". This will enable attendees to explore positivity and self-care through affirmations, mindful eating, healthy tips, and related topics.
Colorado Legal Services will host a Zoom meeting offering tax advice on Thursday, February 19th at 5:30pm.
Attendees can learn about deductions and credits and how to prepare for the upcoming tax season.

The Cortez Public Library is looking for hobbyists and crafters who are interested in donating their time to teach a two-hour craft class to the community.

On Saturday, February 21st at 4:00pm, Fundamental Needs in Cortez will host a workshop called "An Introduction to Blender and 3D Printing".
Participants will learn the basics of 3D design using Blender and see how digital creations come to life with 3D printers.

Beginning Monday, March 2nd at 6:00pm, The Sunflower Theatre will offer a four week course on improv comedy.
This class is a continuation for those who have already completed the impov 101 class.

Stretch and Strength is an exercise class for people with Parkinson's Disease and their care givers. It is held weekly on a Tuesday at 11 am at The Heart and Core Yoga Studio at 720 East Main Street, Cortez.More information is online at parkinsonrockies.org/exercise.
Cortez Integrated Healthcare hosts a peer-led addiction recovery support group every Tuesday at 5:00 PM. Participants will learn practical recovery tools in a supportive, non-12-step environment.
The Pinon Project will host a 12 week course called the "Incredible Years Parenting Program" each Tuesday starting at 5:30pm at The Treehouse Early Learning Center in North Elm Street.
Participants will learn parenting skills. Dinner and childcare are provided.

The K-9 Search and Rescue Team will host an all day educational workshop about wilderness survival training on Saturday, February 28th from 9:00am.
Participants will learn about a variety of skills including shelter building, signaling techniques, back country hygiene, fire craft, and more. Lunch will be provided.
On Saturday February 28th from 10:00am until noon, Dolores Public Library will host a hands-on introduction to sourdough.
Attendees can learn the learn the basics and take home their own starter kit to carry on baking.
