Dolores Public Library will play host to a presentation on the History of Public Lands on Thursday, October 8th from 5:00pm.

Presented by Walt Dabney, retired Head of Texas Parks and retired Superintendent of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, attendees will learn of how our public lands came to be.

The Mancos Meditation Group meets every Thursday at 6:00pm at the One Heart House, located at 733 Grand Avenue in Mancos. More information is on the Mancos Meditation Group Facebook page.

Mancos Conservation District will host a Mancos Watershed Tour on Friday, October 9th from 8:00am.

This all day experience will tour the upper and lower reaches of the watershed and participants will learn about water quality, restoration, infrastructure and management whilst guided by local experts, and a Ute Mountain Ute Water Quality Specialist.

The iNDIGO Room in Durango will host Birds of Play on Friday, October 9th from 7:00pm.

From the San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado, Birds of Play's music is inspired by both the natural world and that of human experience.

The Good Food Collective's annual festival centered around apples and bringing community together will take place on Saturday, October 10th from 9:00am at Durango Farmers Market.

The League of Women Voters of Montezuma County will present Christ deGruy Kennedy for a discussion about income tax in Colorado on Saturday, October 10th at 10.15am at Cortez Public Library.

Christ is a Co-chair of the Protect Colorado’s Future Coalition and President of the Bell Policy Center.

The Montezuma Orchard Restoration Project will host their annual Orchard Social on Saturday, October 10, from 11:00am to 4:00pm at the Orchard Hub, located at 13729 Road 29 in Dolores.

This community celebration features heritage apple trees, food, cider, and live music with State 38. Directions and further details are available at montezumaorchard.org.

The Art Market and Silent Auction annual fundraiser for Grace's Kitchen will be held at St. Barnabus of the Valley Episcopal Church at 110 West North Street in Cortez on Saturday, October 10th from 4:00 to 6:00pm and on Sunday, October 11th from 11:30am to 2:00pm.

The event will feature over four hundred pieces. Further information on the event and making submissions can be obtained by calling 970 565 7865 during office hours.

Cortez Recreation Center in partnership with TeamUp, will host "Teen Hangout Night" every second Saturday of the month from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.

Middle and high school teens can drop-in and enjoy structured activities and complimentary snacks and drinks. Further information is available at teamupsw.org/teen-hangout-night

Mancos Opera House will host "Spellbound" on Saturday, October 10th from 6:00pm.

The evening will feature a DJ and dancing, a silent auction, and various performers. This event is a fundraiser for Mancos Foodshare.
