The Sunflower Theatre Troupe proudly presents the world premiere of Maniac Lake by Jeff Carey - an R-Rated Halloween play taking place in a remote cabin in the mountains that is haunted by the shadow of a psychotic madman. Truth, illusion and sanity are at play in this darkly humorous, postmodern horror story with a mind bending twist at the end. The play opens Friday, October 25th and runs through November 3rd. Fenceline Cider in Mancos will host a family-friendly evening of BINGO starting at 5pm on Thursdays, in conjunction with the Mancos Game Parlor.
WildEdge Brewing Collective in Cortez will host a fundraiser for a new obstetric ultrasound machine to expand maternal health services at the Southwest Medical Group Clinic in Mancos. Live music will be provided Dr. Mullen and Dr. Anderson. The event will take place on Thursday, October 24th from 5 to 7pm.
The American Legion Post 75 in Cortez will host food trucks every Thursday from 5 to 9pm. Live, local musicians will perform at each event.
The monthly meeting of the Cortez Silent Book Club will take place at ZU (zoo) Gallery in Cortez on Thursday, October 24th at 5:30pm. There will be 30 minutes of time at the beginning and at the end of the silent reading hour when you can mingle with other readers. Learn more at zugallery.com.
The Cortez Unity of Community Organization will host a presentation called "A Journey from Humble Beginnings" with Mark Maryboy - retired San Juan County Commissioner, former Navajo Tribal Councilman, and activist for the Bears Ears National Monument on Thursday, October 24th at 6pm in the Calvin Denton Meeting Room at Empire Electric.
The Cortez Public Library will display the works of artist Rowland Lyon - former curator at the Smithsonian Museum, known for his exceptional and distinctive style. They can be viewed through November 1st during regular library hours.

The Pinon Project's annual Pumpkin Fest event will be held in Montezuma Park on Saturday, October 26th, starting with a 5k Zombie Run at 9am.
