The Disabled American Veterans Outreach Center offers rides for Veterans to medical appointments and is looking for volunteer drivers to join the team. Vehicles and gas are provided for these trips.

The Cortez City Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at City Hall on Roger Smith Ave. starting at 7pm.

Dolores River Brewery hosts Trivia Night every Wednesday from 6 to 8pm.

Teams of one to six people are welcome to test their knowledge among fellow trivia lovers.

Kelly's Kitchen will serve chicken katsu, pulled pork, and grilled cheese from 4:00 to 8:00pm.

Every Thursday at 9:00am, Canyon of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum invite volunteer gardeners to come lend a hand in keeping the gardens at the center looking their best.

No experience is necessary other than a love of plants.

Through the month of August, Mancos Public Library invites the public to share their memories of the Mancos Valley.

Their project, as part of the 150th Anniversary of Colorado, is seeking local folklore, memories and photos to be permanently documented. Further information is available by calling (970) 533 7600.

Cortez Public Library will play host to a puzzle race on Thursday, August 27th from 4:00pm.

Teams of up to 4 people will compete to complete a 500-piece puzzle. This event is open to adults, teens, and families with tweens.

The City of Cortez and Evergreen Real Estate Group invite community members to attend a community information and listening session at Cortez Recreation Center on Thursday, August 27th at 5:00pm.

This session is about Park Village on 7th, a proposed new housing development,

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and share feedback with the development team. Light refreshments will be provided.

Prior to the screening of "The American Southwest" at The Sunflower Theatre on Friday, August 28th, The Turquoise Raven Art Gallery in Cortez invite the public to attend an event to meet artists whose work is inspired by this area.

These artists are a farmer, a naturalist, a Native American and a concerned citizen.

Cortez Recreation Center invite all to attend their Big Backyard Community Game Night at Montezuma Park, Cortez on Friday, August 28th from 5:30pm.
