On Tuesday, June 9th from 5:30pm The Sunflower Theatre in association with The Quivira Coalition and Friends will screen “All About a Bird: 1000 Acts of Restoration”.
The second episode of the "Thinking Like Water" series highlights the endangered Gunnison Sage Grouse and how people pull together to save this unique bird. A panel discussion will follow the screening.

On Saturday, June 6th between 3:00 and 5:00pm, The Sunflower Theatre will host a Poetry Workshop titled "A Place We Call Home".
Drawing on the work of Indigenous poets and other writers, Inaugural Poet Laureate of Durango, Esther Belin, will assist participants to generate their own poems celebrating the places that shape and sustain us.
During peak bloom, The Plein Air Lavender Arts Festival returns to Mesa Verde Lavender in Mancos on Friday, June 26th to Sunday, June 28th and Friday, July 3rd to Sunday, July 5th.
Artists from across the region are invited to create among lavender fields, gardens, and the surrounding landscape, with opportunities for painting, photography, writing, and other creative practices.

On Saturday, June 13th from 10:00am until 7:00pm, Durango Public Library will play host to The Four Corners Poetry Festival.
Hosted by Durango Poet Laureate, Esther Belin, the festival is rooted in the celebration of this region as home and will feature workshops and readings.

Mancos Creative District will host Burrofest on Saturday, June 20th from 10:00am at Grand Avenue in Mancos.
BurroFest celebrates the spirited nature of burros through art and interaction and this year the event is a "Burro Birthday Bash" honoring Colorado's 150th anniversary. Attendees can enjoy live art demonstrations, costumed burros, and educational exhibits.
On Saturday, June 20th at 1:00pm, Cortez Makerspace are hosting a Ceramics By Hand Workshop.
Participants can get creative with clay and learn techniques to shape and sculpt in a relaxed, hands-on environment.
