Every Thursday at 9:00am, Canyon of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum invite volunteer gardeners to come lend a hand in keeping the gardens at the center looking their best.

No experience is necessary other than a love of plants.

Montezuma Heritage Museum will host a downtown walking tour of Cortez on Saturday, October 3rd beginning at 10:00am.

This guided tour will offer insights of the people, businesses and events that shaped Cortez's past.

Every Sunday afternoon starting at 2:30pm, The Odd Cat Bookstore in Dolores will host a writing group.

This casual event will typically feature a writing prompt followed by twenty minutes of writing and then a sharing session. Some afternoons will feature a local writer.

The Dolores Mountain Quilters will meet on the first Tuesday of each month at the Dolores Community Center, located at 400 Riverside. The meeting will start at 10am, after a brief social time at 9:30am. For more information, call Laura Bauer at 303-875-4783.

Pueblo Community College will host an open house on Wednesday, October 14th from 5:30pm.

This will be an opportunity for prospective students to tour the facility and meet members of the faculty.

The San Juan Basin Archaeological Society will host a presentation by Joseph Birkmann, PhD, on “The Late Middle Archaic and Early Agricultural Period in Southern Arizona: Materials from McEuen Cave” on Wednesday, October 14th from 6:30pm in the Lyceum at Fort Lewis College, Durango.

The Odd Cat Bookstore in Dolores will host a late morning discussion group every third Saturday at 10.30am.

This will have no agenda, no particular topic and zero politics and will just be humans engaging in conversation. Coffee and tea will be available but attendees are welcome to bring their own refreshments.
