The Sunflower Theatre will host another song circle on Thursday, September 10th from 6:00pm.
Led by Julie Hartline and Geneva Toland, "Gathering Resistance and Resilience: Songs to Meet the Moment" will feature simple, dynamic, call-and-echo songs rooted in community resistance, resilience, and solidarity.

The Sunflower Theatre will host Comedy Open Mic events every Third Thursday beginning at 7:00pm.
But this time, attendees are invited to perform in a wider variety of comedy styles including improv, stand-up comedy, clown and physical comedy, story telling, and sketch comedy.

To support participants in the 5th Annual RISE Southwest Memorial Walk on September 12th, RISE Southwest are seeking people to attend ZU Gallery on Friday, September 11th at 6:00pm to paint rocks with positive messages that will be placed along the walking route. All supplies will be provided and the evening will feature live music.
The Sunflower Theatre will screen the Amy Goodman documentary, "Steal This Story, Please" on Friday, September 11th at 7:00pm.
"Steal This Story, Please" is a compelling new documentary following legendary investigative journalist Amy Goodman, host of Democracy Now! For more than three decades, Goodman has fearlessly reported from the front lines of war, political upheaval, social justice movements, and grassroots resistance.

The 5th Annual RISE Southwest Memorial Walk will take place on Saturday, September 12th in Montezuma Park from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
RISE Southwest’s mission is to prevent suicide by spreading awareness and continuing the conversation around suicide prevention.

On Saturday, September 12th from 9:00am, Montezuma Land Conservancy invite all to a Cycling and Salsa Festival at Fozzie's Farm in Lewis.
The event will feature bike rides, food, music, and fun for the whole family.

The Cortez Cultural Center will host the 2nd Annual Four Corners Studio Tour taking place over the last two weekends of September.
During the tours, Montezuma County artists open their studios to the public.

Mancos Brewing Collective will be the venue for Nordfest 2026. From 3:00pm on Saturday, September 12th, five local bands will take to stage as part of the fundraiser to support Cancer Support Community Southwest Colorado and the Cancer Resource Alliance of Montezuma and Dolores Counties.
The bands performing are Snowy Plovers, Van Hagen, Hotel Draw, The Moetones and Little Brother.
The Cortez Recreation Center, in partnership with TeamUp, hosts "Teen Hangout Nights" every second and fourth Saturday from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.
Teens can drop-in and enjoy an open gym, structured games, rock climbing, karaoke and more. Snacks and drinks will be available.

Four Corners Food Not Bombs is a mutual aid group where neighbors help neighbors, and everyone is welcome. They meet Sundays from noon to 1:30 at the Good Sam’s Warehouse in Cortez for a hot, homemade vegan and vegetarian potluck, plus an exchange of books and clothes. Come give what you can, and take what you need.
