The Cortez Cultural Center will host a reception for the Historical Preservation Society's new coloring book at 4:30pm on Friday, May 3rd. A presentation called Debunking The Myths of Historic Preservation will be held at 3pm as well.

The Lions Club of Cortez will present a family show, featuring celebrated magician Mysto the Magi, at 7 PM on Friday, May 3rd at the Montezuma-Cortez High School Auditorium. The proceeds go to provide eyeglasses and exams for children and others in Montezuma County who are in need. Tickets are available at the door.
The iAM MUSIC Fest will hold late night shows on May 3rd and 4th at the Durango Arts Center, from 9:30pm to midnight. Featured artists include ZiMBiRA, Kaitlyn Williams, Haiikuu, and Secret Circus Society. Tickets and more information are available at iammusic.us.

The Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum will host “Archeology Day” on Saturday May 4th, 2024. The event features demonstrations, hands-on activities, lectures, and guided tours of the Edge of the Cedars Pueblo. Demonstrations will include pottery-making, traditional Pueblo weaving, flint-knapping, carving, jewelry, and basketry. Activities will take place from 10am until 4pm.
A public Artist Bruch will be held at Lola's Place in Durango on May 4th and 5th, starting at 11am. Connor Terrones will be featured on Saturday, and The Funk Express on Sunday. The event is presented by the iAM MUSIC Fest, but no tickets are required.
