To celebrate Colorado Day on August 1st, The City of Cortez Historic Preservation Board are offering a guided walking tour of historical Downtown Cortez beginning at 10:00am.
Participants are reminded to wear comfortable shoes as a guide leads them on the tour while sharing stories of the people, businesses and events that shaped Cortez's past.

Each First Sunday of the month, Mancos Public Library will host two traditional Kundalini yoga classes at both 7:00 and 9:00am in person and on Zoom.
Hosted by Colette, the class will involve breathing techniques, movement and meditation and these can also be done from a chair.

Four Corners Food Not Bombs is a mutual aid group where neighbors help neighbors, and everyone is welcome. They meet Sundays from noon to 1:30 at the Good Sam’s Warehouse in Cortez for a hot, homemade vegan and vegetarian potluck, plus an exchange of books and clothes. Come give what you can, and take what you need.

The Disabled American Veterans Outreach Center offers rides for Veterans to medical appointments and is looking for volunteer drivers to join the team. Vehicles and gas are provided for these trips.

The Cortez City Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at City Hall on Roger Smith Ave. starting at 7pm.
Aug 05 Wednesday
Dolores River Brewery hosts Trivia Night every Wednesday from 6 to 8pm.
Teams of one to six people are welcome to test their knowledge among fellow trivia lovers.
Kelly's Kitchen will serve chicken katsu, pulled pork, and grilled cheese from 4:00 to 8:00pm.

Every Thursday at 9:00am, Canyon of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum invite volunteer gardeners to come lend a hand in keeping the gardens at the center looking their best.
No experience is necessary other than a love of plants.

During July and August, Mancos Public Library invite the public to share their memories of the Mancos Valley.
Their project, as part of the 150th Anniversary of Colorado, is seeking local folklore, memories and photos to be permanently documented. Further information is available by calling (970) 533 7600.
The Montezuma Civic Hub is hosting a new series called Finding Common Ground: Skills for Working Across Differences at the Cortez Public Library. The series runs monthly through December, covering topics like listening, bridging divides, and engaging across differences. Sessions take place from noon to 1 pm and include lunch.
