A new Toastmasters club is forming in Cortez in collaboration with the Montezuma Leadership Network. Meetings will be held at the Cortez Chamber of Commerce on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 5:30 to 6:30pm. All are welcome!

The Cortez Public Library is looking for hobbyists and crafters who are interested in donating their time to teach a two-hour craft class to the community.

Cortez Public Library will host an interactive science lesson for kids and parents on Friday, October 17th at 3:00pm.
This presentation about soil will explain what makes up the world under our feet and is intended for children aged five and up.

Oct 21 Tuesday
The 22nd Judicial District will host a day of learning at Montezuma Combined Court on Tuesday, October 21st between 8:30am and 5:00pm.
Classes will include subjects such as tenants rights, Colorado laws and protections, and estate wills and trusts. Attendees can seek advice from an attorney.

Stretch and Strength is an exercise class is for people with Parkinson's Disease and their care givers. It is held weekly on a Tuesday at 11 am at The Heart and Core Yoga Studio at 720 East Main Street, Cortez.More information is online at parkinsonrockies.org/exercise.
The Pinon Project will host The Incredible Years Advanced Parenting Class every Tuesday from 1:00 - 3:00pm.This class is for parents and caregivers of children aged from 2 to 10 years. The First United Methodist Church will host sessions for caregivers every third Tuesday of the month at 4.00pm. These meeting are intended to provide support from other caregivers that are also on the journey of caring for a loved one. Topics discussed will include strategies for self-care, understanding and working with brain change and forms of dementia, dealing with the grief of change, and supporting your health and well-being.
Cortez Integrated Healthcare hosts a peer-led addiction recovery support group every Tuesday at 5:00 PM. Participants will learn practical recovery tools in a supportive, non-12-step environment.
The Pinon Project will offer a parenting class called "Six Bricks" every Tuesday from 5:30 to 8:00pm.
This new and updated program is centered around six research-proven steps that will help build a strong foundation for children's lives.
