Cortez Public Library will host an after school program every Wednesday between 4:00 and 5:00pm for kids eight years and older.

The program will include help with homework, games, activities and snacks.

Cortez Tours in association with Squirrel Congress will host ghost tours on Thursday, October 22nd and Friday, October 23rd in Downtown Cortez.

Proceeds from the tours will be donated to Montezuma Heritage Museum.

Cortez Public Library will screen a special after hours, award-winning animated mini-series on Friday, October 23rd at 5:00pm.

The screening will feature performances from Elijah Wood, Christopher Lloyd and Tim Curry and is suitable for the whole family. Snacks will be provided.

Four Corners Food Not Bombs is a mutual aid group where neighbors help neighbors, and everyone is welcome. They meet Sundays from noon to 1:30 at the Good Sam’s Warehouse in Cortez for a hot, homemade vegan and vegetarian potluck, plus an exchange of books and clothes. Come give what you can, and take what you need.

Cortez Public Library will host the TCG Club every Tuesday from 4:15pm where kids eight and older can enjoy playing and trading cards like Pokemon and Magic the Gathering.

This Halloween, Saturday, October 31st The Pinon Project will host their annual Pumpkin Fest event at Montezuma Park in Cortez beginning at 9:00am.

This event is open to all and will feature a pumpkin carving competition, activity tent and a costume contest as well as the traditional Trick or Treat around Main Street Parade.

The Gathering Place in Cortez will host a prayer meeting and march on the last Saturday of the month from 1:30pm. All are welcome to join.

Cortez Public Library will host a Not-So-Scary Halloween Dance Party on Saturday, October 31st at 2:00pm.

The event will feature a photo station and treats for kids.
