Zu Gallery, Cortez will host a Hands-On Songwriting Workshop on Wednesday, January 7th at 6:00pm.
Hosted by Dan Chiras and Tom Scott, attendees will learn techniques for writing engaging lyrics, catchy melodies, verses, choruses, bridges, and more.

The Sunflower Theatre is offering a four-week songwriting class starting Wednesday, January 7th.
The workshop is for songwriters who already have some experience and want to strengthen their craft.
Classes will focus on writing exercises, feedback, and developing new approaches to songwriting.

Montezuma County with Montezuma Leadership Network will host a Community Involvement Expo at the Montezuma County Annex in North Chestnut Street on Thursday, January 8th from 4:00 to 6:00pm.
Attendees can connect with and meet the organizations who operate within our community as well as learn about a variety of voluntary opportunities that are available.
Every Thursday at 5:30pm The Pinon Project hosts Alphabet Soup. This is a program for parents and caretakers of children with special needs or challenging behaviors.Dinner and childcare are provided. Further information is available at pinonproject.org
The Cortez Library Monthly Movie Club will be screening "The Pursuit of Happyness", on Thursday, January 8th at 5:15pm.
Starring Will Smith, the movie is a biographical drama about a homeless salesman. Beverages and movie theatre popcorn will be available.
ZU Gallery in Cortez will host an acoustic open mic night on Thursday, January 8th from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
Yves Giraud will facilitate the evening and provide all the necessary equipment. All musicians and performers, regardless of experience level, are welcome to come and share their talent.

During January The Turquoise Raven Art Gallery will exhibit a collection of work celebrating the human figure.
This will feature everything from works from figure drawing classes to abstract interpretations. Numerous artists and mediums will be represented.

Hospice of Montezuma is offering a weekly men’s discussion group on Fridays from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

The Cortez Recreation Center, in partnership with TeamUp, hosts "Teen Hangout Nights" every second and fourth Saturday from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.
Teens can drop-in and enjoy an open gym, structured games, rock climbing, karaoke and more. Snacks and drinks will be available.
