Stage Two fire restrictions are in effect across much of southwest Colorado and the Four Corners region because of extreme fire danger.
Restrictions apply on the San Juan and Manti-La Sal National Forests, BLM Tres Rios lands, Mesa Verde National Park and Yucca House National Monument, as well as several county, municipal and tribal jurisdictions.
Under Stage Two restrictions, campfires, charcoal fires, wood stoves, open burning, fireworks, explosives, outdoor smoking and other spark-producing activities may be prohibited or limited depending on the jurisdiction.
Residents and visitors should check current restrictions before camping, grilling, working outdoors or recreating on public lands. Follow local county, tribal, Forest Service, BLM and National Park Service updates for the latest information.
