Kelli Hargraves, Director of Montezuma County Social Services, will address the impact on Montezuma County residents receiving SNAP benefits during the government shutdown at a presentation at Cortez Public Library on Saturday, November 15th at 10:15am.
Kelli will share what local organizations are doing and how you can help. She will also share changes to Medicaid eligibility and the potential impact to local residents as the result of HR 1.
Montezuma Inspire Coalition will hold their "S'mores and Stories by the Fire" event on Saturday, November 15th at 3.30pm.
The event will kick off with a family-friendly hike at 3:30pm, then a campfire, hot dogs, marshmallows, stories and songs starting at 4:30pm.

Bluff Community Centre will host the first Dark Sky Festival on Friday, November 14th and Saturday, the 15th from 6:00pm.
As Utah’s newest International Dark Sky Community, the festival at Bluff will feature Western and Indigenous astronomers, a Navajo storyteller, lectures and a variety of sky enthusiasts. Attendees will experience a weekend of stargazing, cultural traditions, and family-friendly activities.
Each night will feature a Star Party with a telescope walk and constellation tours.

The ZU Gallery in Cortez will host their 32nd Listening Room on Saturday, November 15th from 6:00 to 8:00pm featuring live music from TJ Zark.

The Sunflower Troupe is thrilled to present "Silent Sky" a beautifully written play by Lauren Gunderson taking place in the early 1900s about the life of astronomer Henrietta Leavitt whose achievements changed the way we understand the universe.

Four Corners Food Not Bombs will provide an opportunity for mutual aid at the pink warehouse at 30 N. Beech Street in Cortez on Sundays from noon to 1:30pm. Everyone is invited, but not required, to bring a vegetarian or vegan dish to share. Needed items include tents, sleeping bags, hygiene supplies, and socks.

The Disabled American Veterans Outreach Center offers rides for Veterans to medical appointments and is looking for volunteer drivers to join the team. Vehicles and gas are provided for these trips.
