The San Juan Basin Archaeological Society will host a presentation by Joseph Birkmann, PhD, on “The Late Middle Archaic and Early Agricultural Period in Southern Arizona: Materials from McEuen Cave” on Wednesday, October 14th from 6:30pm in the Lyceum at Fort Lewis College, Durango.

Every Thursday at 9:00am, Canyon of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum invite volunteer gardeners to come lend a hand in keeping the gardens at the center looking their best.

No experience is necessary other than a love of plants.

A group called The Cortez Tree People are distributing trees to select residents and businesses in Cortez in order to make Cortez a cooler and greener place.

Mancos Conservation District will hold a hands-on workshop about no-till seed drill on Thursday, October 15th from 9:00am.

Participants will learn about the benefits of no-till seeding and see a demonstration of equipment setups and their operation.

The Colorado Section of the Society for Range Management and CSU Extension in Montezuma County will host a workshop at Dolores Community Center on Thursday, October 15th from 9:00am.

Titled "Livestock on Landscapes: A Workshop on Harnessing Livestock Behavior for Healthier Land and Animals", the event will feature a variety of speakers.

Indigenous Wellbriety will host a Talking Circle twice weekly at Cortez Cultural Center.

Tuesday meetings begin at 6:00pm and Thursday meetings begin at 1:00pm. All are welcome.

Mancos Farmers Market will take place every Thursday in Boyle Park from 4:00 to 6:30pm featuring local vegetables, baked goods and more.

Every Third Thursday from June until September, CREA in partnership with The City of Cortez, invites all to attend Third Thursdays in Montezuma Park.

Beginning at 5:00pm, this downtown outdoor event will feature vendors, live music, dancing, food & drink, giveaways and community fun. Attendees are reminded to bring a chair for viewing the live bands.

The Cult Movie Federation of Mancos will screen the 1983 dark cult classic, "Something Wicked This Way Comes" at Mancos Opera House on Thursday, October 15th at 6:00pm.

Based on the Ray Bradbury novel, the movie tells the story of when a diabolical circus and its demonic proprietor arrive in a small American town.
