Every Thursday at 9:00am, Canyon of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum invite volunteer gardeners to come lend a hand in keeping the gardens at the center looking their best.

No experience is necessary other than a love of plants.

The Montezuma Civic Hub is hosting a new series called Finding Common Ground: Skills for Working Across Differences at the Cortez Public Library. The series runs monthly through December, covering topics like listening, bridging divides, and engaging across differences. Sessions take place from noon to 1 pm and include lunch.

Mancos Farmers Market will take place every Thursday in Boyle Park from 4:00 to 6:30pm featuring local vegetables, baked goods and more.

The John Wesley Powell River History Museum in Green River along with the Glen Canyon Institute will host an event titled "Glen Canyon Exposed" on Thursday, September 3rd from 5:30pm.

This event will bring together award-winning storyteller Craig Childs, photographer and exhibit co-curator Dawn Kish, master printmaker and exhibit co-curator Richard Jackson, and Hopi cultural educator Georgie Pongyesva.

The Mancos Meditation Group meets every Thursday at 6:00pm at the One Heart House, located at 733 Grand Avenue in Mancos. More information is on the Mancos Meditation Group Facebook page.

The Sunflower Theatre will host Comedy Open Mic events every Third Thursday beginning at 7:00pm.

But this time, attendees are invited to perform in a wider variety of comedy styles including improv, stand-up comedy, clown and physical comedy, story telling, and sketch comedy.

Canyon of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum invite all to attend a Star Party on Friday, September 4th from 6:00pm.

The event will be dedicated to astronomy and attendees can experience informative presentations, guided stargazing and the opportunity to use telescopes.

Stillwater Music in Durango will host a reception on Friday, September 4th from 6:00pm to celebrate student creativity.

This opening reception will feature musical performances from Stillwater students, light refreshments, and interactive art activities from Seed Studio.

iAM Music will host a performance by local bands, Ragged Oak and The Eli Emmit Band at The iNDIGO Room in Durango on Friday, September 4th from 8:00pm.

The Mesa Verde Literary Festival will take place at various venues throughout the day in Mancos on Saturday, September 5th.

The event will include author talks, panel discussions, readings, a pop up book shop and youth poetry and storytelling. Colorado Poet Laureate Crisosto Apache will be in attendance.
