The Sunflower Theatre will host Comedy Open Mic events every Third Thursday beginning at 7:00pm.

But this time, attendees are invited to perform in a wider variety of comedy styles including improv, stand-up comedy, clown and physical comedy, story telling, and sketch comedy.

Every third Friday at 10:00am Cortez Public Library will host Coffee and Crafts.

Seasoned crafters or those just beginning are invited to join and use the provided art supplies, unwind, relax and create.

The Turquoise Raven Art Gallery in Cortez will feature an exhibition by artist, Darnell Bane throughout October.

Cortez Public Library will host an author talk with local writer, Lowell Volk on Friday, October 16th from 2:00pm.

Lowell will talk about his his recently published book, "The Early Days of Silverton, Colorado: History of a Gold-Rush Town".

Studio & Gallery in Durango will host a ceremonial exhibition and performance on Friday, October 16th from 5:00pm with a live performance beginning at 6:00pm. This will be a prelude to the art being on display until Sunday, October 25th.

Called "Raven and the Dance of Shadows" the exhibition will feature Tempist Jade, Nikki Moon and Chris Haas and weaves together performance art, wearable sculpture, live poetry, visual art, and music.

HomesFund will host an information session for prospective home owners at Cortez Public Library on Friday, October 16th from 5:30pm.

Attendees can learn about construction projects, down payment assistance and more.

As part of the Jazz Collective Series, ZU Gallery in Cortez will host The Stillwater Music Faculty Band on Friday, October 16th from 6:00pm.

The program also includes a spoken-word segment by a local writer during the band's break. Further information is available at zugallery.com

Cortez Tours will host a ghost tour of Downtown Cortez on Friday, October 16th at 7:00pm.

This ninety minute guided tour will regale participants with local legends and eerie tales.

The Odd Cat Bookstore in Dolores will host a late morning discussion group every third Saturday at 10.30am.

This will have no agenda, no particular topic and zero politics and will just be humans engaging in conversation. Coffee and tea will be available but attendees are welcome to bring their own refreshments.

The White Mesa Concerned Community group will hold a walk and protest for those impacted by the uranium industry around The Four Corners on Saturday, October 17th from 11:00am beginning at White Mesa Community Center.
