The Sunflower Theatre will screen "Come See Me in the Good Light", on Thursday, November 13th at 7:00pm.
The film follows poets and partners Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley as they navigate life after Gibson’s diagnosis with terminal ovarian cancer.
The film captures their intimate journey with poetry, love, humor and vulnerability and reveals how illness forces a confrontation with mortality.
Prior to the screening, a gathering will take place at 6:30pm celebrating the work of Andrea Gibson.

The Sunflower Troupe is thrilled to present "Silent Sky" a beautifully written play by Lauren Gunderson taking place in the early 1900s about the life of astronomer Henrietta Leavitt whose achievements changed the way we understand the universe.

In honor of Thanksgiving, Cortez Public Library will be screening "Home for the Holidays" on Thursday, November 13th at 5:15pm.
This underrated holiday classic, stars Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr. and portrays the hilarious, chaotic craziness of family get-togethers.

A new Toastmasters club is forming in Cortez in collaboration with the Montezuma Leadership Network. Meetings will be held at the Cortez Chamber of Commerce on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 5:30 to 6:30pm. All are welcome!
Four Corners Writers will launch Four Corners Voices – Volume 2 at Maria’s Bookshop in downtown Durango on Thursday, November 13th at 6:00pm.
The new collection of poetry, short stories, and essays follows the 2024 collection "Four Corners Voices" that went on to win the 2025 Colorado Book Award for Best Anthology.

The Vallecito Room at Fort Lewis College, Durango will host The All Our Kin Collective, The Lensic Performing Arts Theatre, and Future Voices of New Mexico for an event celebrating The Next Generation of Native Filmmakers on Thursday, November 13th at 6:30pm.
The event will feature a celebration of powerful stories, creative voices, and Indigenous creativity on the big screen.
Hospice of Montezuma will facilitate a weekly meeting for men each Friday from 2:00 - 3:30pm.
This group is for men who might benefit from sharing things that have been weighing on their minds. Seeing things from a new perspective is often very helpful. Mental health matters!

On Friday, November 14th at 2:00pm, as part of their Teen Gaming series, Cortez Public Library will be hosting their Teen Gaming Hour.
This event will include free snacks, video games, and friendly competition.
The Dolores Rotary Club will hold a Bingo Night Fundraiser for our local Disabled American Veterans office at the Dolores Community Center on Friday, November 14th. A Soup Supper will start at 5pm, with bingo following at 5:30pm.
Bluff Community Centre will host the first Dark Sky Festival on Friday, November 14th and Saturday, the 15th from 6:00pm.
As Utah’s newest International Dark Sky Community, the festival at Bluff will feature Western and Indigenous astronomers, a Navajo storyteller, lectures and a variety of sky enthusiasts. Attendees will experience a weekend of stargazing, cultural traditions, and family-friendly activities.
Each night will feature a Star Party with a telescope walk and constellation tours.
